Irrigation-induced Impacts on Near-surface Climate

Date 2019 - 2023

His study mainly focus on irrigation-induced impacts on climate. To improve our understanding on these impacts, a new irrigation module representing different irrigation techniques will be developed for the land model of Community Earth System Model (CESM2), Community Land Model (CLM5). Then, an irrigation technique distribution scenario will be designed, and will be used, with RCP and SSP scenarios, to project these impacts in future. Due to the uncertainties of single model, a model-intercomparison-project (IRRMIP) will be launched, in which the irrigation-expansion-induced impacts on climate will be simulated by multiple Earth system model and analysed to detect various scientific questions.
