Felicien MEUNIER
Félicien Meunier is a quantitative forest ecologist specialising in mechanistic models of forest functioning and responses to environmental change. His research combines plant physiology, climate science and remote sensing, with applications spanning tropical and temperate forests. At UCLouvain, he obtained MSc degrees in Environmental Sciences (2012) and Physics (2017), both with Magna cum laude. He obtained an F.R.S.-FNRS doctoral fellowship investigating soil-plant relationships with functional-structural plant models (2013-2017). From 2017 to 2026, Meunier held several postdoctoral positions at Ghent University and at Boston University, during which he contributed to cutting-edge research in tropical ecology and land surface modelling. He holds a professorship at the VUB (0.1 FTE) to investigate the impact of climate and land-use changes on the resilience of Afrotropical forests. Félicien Meunier has published 67 peer-reviewed articles. He has (co-)supervised 4 postdocs, 7 PhDs and 16 master’s students.
